Thanks to Merv from RIMFIRE for this week’s SAGS report 3.11.18
15 boats came out on Saturday. The wind predication was 10 to 15 knots with gusts of 25 knots. Kevin and I went out for a casual sail and were taking it easy and decided to go right across the bay into calmer water. We were trying to avoid too many tacks. After we passed French Kiss, Jupiter and Zingara on the second leg we were first to the cardinal mark at Bribie and we thought we might have a chance of a minor place. By this time the winds had picked up to 20 knots which suited the catamarans. We on Rimfire were surprised to come in first with Sentier closing in fast and Catalina and Comfortably Numb not far behind. Silverado and a host of monos were not far behind also.
We would like to thank Craig Pawson of Bay Boats for their generous sponsorship of the SAGS first race of the month.
