SAGS sailing

Here is your SAGS report from Allan of ASGARD for 8.12.18.

11 boats sailed a port course in Deception Bay. Winds were a nice 15 to 20 knots ESE, but the seas were pretty rough after days of south easterlies and the usual Garnet Rock course was considered likely to be a bit extreme

.

In alphabetical order Asgard, Comfortably Numb, Jupiter, Nice Try, Page III, Rimfire, Sentier, Seraya, War Canoe, Zingara and JoDe 7 took to the bay.

Jupiter led off with Asgard following and these two, suited by the conditions and their handicaps managed to keep well ahead of the rest of the fleet until well into the last leg.

Freshly antifouled Asgard was able to point higher than Jupiter on the beat from Caboolture Yellow and made the better of the tacking duel into the finish.

Fast finishing Comfortably Numb threatened to catch the two monohulls on the last tack to the line, but had to settle for a clear third place.

All boat finished in good shape, as the wind, although fresh, remained steady without any damaging gusts unlike last week.
