With a forecast of up to 20 Knots SE, the pre-race bar attendees decided that the scheduled Garnet Rock course could result in drinks being spilt, so 8 boats in starting order; Divine Madness, Asgard, Rooger, Double D, Zingara, Nice Try, Grecher and Sentier set out on a port course in the bay.
Divine Madness lead both the MBBC and Newport fleets to the second mark with steady 15 to 18 knot south easterlies, but once more the conditions suited Asgard better so she eased ahead on the port beat and made it to the line first, just edging out Rooger in a last minute tacking duel.
Again Zingara executed a series of splendid tactical manoeuvres to make it into fourth, forcing Double D to take the time penalty for third spot.
Asgard continued to plunder the trophy cabinet with Greg taking out the red wine draw.
Lee, a guest on Sentier took away the white wine.
Thanks again to Sunshine Boat Sales and MBBC for sponsorship and thanks to our visiting crew-persons. Hope to see them all again.
