Thanks to Michael of JENESIS for this SAGS report 8/9/18
The BOM forecast moderate north easterlies and the chance of storms and they got it right. 13 boats with 36 sailors started in light easterlies and by the time the later starters rounded Reef Point the leading boats seemed ready to disappear into some nasty weather sweeping out from Woody Point. Fortunately, that storm drifted safely toward the east and other storms stayed away. The wind gradually built giving the later starters a boost toward Garnet Rock. It was a good beat back to Reef Point with some close encounters among big wind fluctuations among Page III, Shala and Jenesis. Then a quick reach to the finish line with the wind getting up to 20 knots. Jenesis sneaked past Page III (fourth) and Shala (third) with a favourable wind shift before the Tripod and just got past Zingara before the line.
Thanks to the MBBC for sponsoring the race.
