Here is the race report for WAGS 01.01.20.
Being the 1st Wednesday of the month we sailed to Garnet Rock and back.
Expecting postcard sailing on Moreton Bay is nearly always wrong. Today was normal – 15kts NNE and choppy.
We were 1st away, Simon on the helm picked the perfect time to tack to lay Reef Point in 2 boards. We bared away and popped the asso for the broad reach down to Garnett Rock. Cate steered that leg perfectly. No opposition close so dropped the asso with time to spare. The work back up the bay went according to plan A, still no serious threat so bared away at Reef Point and elected to not put up the kite. Mic (1st timer) steered us to the finish well but luckily we had a large margin because Page 111 made up a lot of ground with her kite up to take 2nd and Prophecy stormed home to take 3rd.
A beaut day on the water, thanks Simon, Cate and Mic, and Graeme for the presentation.
