WAGS Report 16/09/2020

What a great day on the water for our WAGS. A good steady SE breeze to start so we had a kite run upto D-Bay Red but it was a fickle breeze and it soon dropped down to about 10 knots.
We were lead away by Cariama and Double D followed by us, Zingara, Kavinga and Rag Top. Incredible was first around D-Bay Red  and was never headed. The new antifoal and a masthead kite made it all happen. The breeze changed and we saw the middle of the fleet having to put a tack in to round the Bribie mark.
While this was going on we had to change from our hounds kite to the masthead, the breeze had dropped out. Looking back there was Double D Zingara , Kavinga and a few others all joking for position with Zingara coming out in front of the group and she was chasing hard.
We rounded D-Bay Red but could not carry our kite but by the time Zingara rounded the wind had shifted to allow them and the following boats to carry their kites. It was quite a site looking back, with Freyja, Nice Try, Double D and Kavinga finishing in close company.
1st.  Incredible.
2nd.   Zingara.
3rd.    Freyja.
4th.  Nice Try
Thank to MBBC Sailing for a great day.
