The Moreton Bay Boat Club has an agreement of affiliation with the Redcliffe Peninsula Game & Sportfish Club under which the RPGSC is our official Fishing Section. The section caters for anglers of all levels of skill, for competitive and social fisherman alike, particularly kids and families.
The section is a great believer in sustainable fishing and regularly practice tag & release for many species but equally we promote keeping edible fish for the table. There is nothing better than eating your own freshly caught fish.
There are regular monthly club weekends which conclude with a weigh-in and BBQ. For competitive anglers the section is affiliated with Q.G.F.A and A.N.S.A and run their own competitions. Our premier event is the Redcliffe Australia Day Billfish Tournament held in January every year. It is a light tackle Billfish Tournament that attracts fisherman from far and wide to compete for trophy and prizes worth thousands and the prestige. We also run an annual Sportfish Tournament catering for all types of fishing.
General meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday evening of each month at 7.00pm at the Moreton Bay Boat Club, Bird O’Passage Parade, Scarborough. Visitors are always welcome.
